Story Telling Online – Syrian Style

Click here to listen to Al Hakawati Stories

The Hands Up Foundation has started a wonderful storytelling service on its website and social channels. While we hunker down, they have found some of the leading lights of television and the arts to tell stories that you and your family can listen to for free. Readers include some of Britain’s best-loved voices, including journalists David Dimbleby and Mishal Husain, as well as explorer Levison Wood and actor Samuel West.

Hands Up is a young charity set up to help communities in Syria and on its borders survive the appalling conditions created by war. Started in 2014, it was inspired by two friends, both of whom lived in Syria before coming back to the UK as a result of the conflict.
